Anzac Day

Jets for Anzac day

April 25 2022. Nauti Time 050

Happy Anzac Day. We are pretty close to Newcastle and we don’t know if it’s a usual occurrence or just because it’s Anzac Day but we have had many military jets and the orion flying low altitude overhead. Fascinating the delay between sight and sonic boom of these speedsters.

We were hoping to explore this Island by foot today but we circumnavigated it in Little Puss and there were no tracks evident anywhere and it is very overgrown as it is a nature reserve and has just been left in its natural state. It’s a shame though as there are obviously many introduced weed species that seem to be overtaking the whole place. In stark contrast we took little Puss over to Murray beach on the mainland East of here and there are beautiful homes with manicured gardens so organized and structured with paths lined with square cut sandstone blocks and paved wide pathways to amble along. It was fantastic just to stretch our legs and walk a kilometer or 2. It’s something I miss a lot is my long walks. I tend to get a bit of cabin fever at times and get anxious to put feet on land so was great to get my fix today.

Sunrise on very calm lake

We grabbed one of the mooring balls for Nauti Kitty as one of the boats left today so we will stay here another night before heading further south on the lakes for a day or 2.

Now enjoying sitting out in the cockpit on an almost mirror lake with a cuppa and my book watching people in their fishing boats and sail boats go by occasionally. Very peaceful.
